Who She Is
Dr. Lynette Luckers Hunt, LPC, NCC is the founder of SoulGood Healing. With 20+ years in higher education and mental health, she supports adults through grief and loss, adoption and identity, caregiver stress, and major life transitions—using person-centered, culturally affirming care. She also consults with campuses, organizations, and faith communities to build compassionate, practical responses to life’s heavy seasons.
Dr. Lynette’s Personal Story
Growing up with a parent navigating significant mental health challenges, Lynette often felt alone and unsure how to help. Years later, she spent five years as her father’s caregiver while finishing her doctorate, starting a new role, and building a family. Those experiences shaped her calling to walk alongside others through grief, caregiving, identity shifts, and change—helping people find balance, resilience, and hope.
Dr. Lynette Luckers Hunt, LPC, NCC is the founder of SoulGood Healing, a counseling and consulting practice dedicated to helping adults and elders navigate grief and loss, adoption and identity, caregiver stress, and major life transitions. Blending two decades of experience across higher education and mental health with lived experience as a caregiver, she offers care that is person-centered, culturally affirming, and immediately practical.
Her approach is summarized as Awareness → Choice → Alignment: recognize patterns without judgment, make supportive choices, and align daily life with mental wellness. In addition to clinical work, Dr. Lynette serves organizations, campuses, and faith communities through keynotes, workshops, and trainings. Popular topics include Grieving While Leading, Parenting Our Parents, Becoming Someone New (reinvention & identity shifts), Holidays in the Shadow of Loss, Adoption & Identity, and Job & Career Transitions. Audiences leave with a shared language for hard seasons and tools they can use right away.
A seasoned higher-education leader, she has served as a dean, professor, department chair, and in roles spanning residential programming and mental health day programs. Her insights have been featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Morning Call. Honors include the Bloomsburg University Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award, a KYW Newsradio Women’s Achievement Awards Rising Star honor, and AAWCC 40 Under 40 recognition.
